Stephen Dawson, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Howard S. Dawson of County road, Monument Beach, a member of this year's graduating class at Bourne High school, left Tuesday to join the Navy. He will take his boot training at the Great Lakes Naval Training station.
Steve was in the cast of the senior play and was second in points as a member of the new track team at the high school. Road racing however is Steve's major enthusiasm. He started just a year ago and in his second race at Bourne, and placed 33 out of a field of 68. He is a member of the Boston AA and has run a good number of races, showing steady Improvement.
