Shift To New School Building Starts Game Of Musical Chairs

Bourne High school students are having their long awaited first visit to their new high school building above Waterhouse ?R?oad today. ? ?Monday work there begins in earnest.

In the sort of musical chairs begun by opening of the new high school building, buses will carry the high school students there Monday on the new schedule.

Seventh and eighth grade classes move from the Bourne Grammar ?S?chool building on Monday to the present high school building.

Fourth grade pupils will move from the James F. Peebles Elementary ?S?chool to the Grammar ?School. ? ?First grade class which has been conducted in the Legion ?B?uilding in Bourne will join the other primary classes at the Peebles ?S?chool.

Although opening of the new building ends two years of double sessions for the high school students and faculty, there will remain different starting and closing times for junior and senior high schools, and double runs for school buses.

The school day schedule:

Senior high opens 7:38 A.M. closes 1:25 P.M.

Junior high opens 7:17 A.M. closes 1:12 P.M.

Provision is made for late sessions at both schools, from 1:20 to 2:20 at the junior high and 1:25 to 2:25 at the high school.

Two buses will make the late run covering the town from Sagamore Beach to Cataumet and Otis.

While elementary school bus times are uninterrupted by the change, buses for junior and senior high school students start rolling at 6:40 and 6:50 A.M. each school day

?W?hen Bourne High students occupy their new school building today, they will find broad-windowed rooms shining with new furniture and equipment.
