BOURNE - Baccalaureate Sermon
Class of 1915
Barnstable Patriot, Monday, June 28, 1915, Page: 5
BOURNE - Baccalaureate Sermon
A very large congregation was present at the morning service last Sunday. Rev. C. A. Stenhouse spoke to the graduating class of the Bourne High school.
A most eloquent and impressive sermon from the text found in the third chapter of Philippians, and a part of the 13th verse: "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
The floral decorations were very beautiful and artistic. The altar rail was bordered top and bottom with a row of lovely ferns and through the center was a wide thick band of field daisies dotted with purple iris with a mass of white peonies grouped at the center front. A pillow shaped arrangement of pond lilies with two large bouquets of iris, one blue, one gold, (class colors) with ferns, and another bouquet of pale purple iris and ferns on a pedestal completed the background, forming a most delightful and harmonious whole.
The class numbers nine, Joseph Robinson, Foster Small, Harold Dyke, Alden Eldridge, Myrtle Butler, Gladys Jocelyn, Adelaide Leonard, Doris Eldridge, and Evelyn Small.
