Soldier Of The Month
Specialist 3rd class Elmer I. Clegg Jr. has been named Soldier of the Month at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
A graduate of Bourne High School, class of 1954, he will be discharged from the Army in January and will return to college. He attended the University of Massachusetts before entering the service and served as an "extra'* in the motion picture Battle Hymn while stationed in Arizona. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Elmer I. Clegg of County Road in Pocasset, who operate Ken's Clam shop near the Bourne bridge in Buzzards Bay.
