Class of 1938

Falmouth Enterprise, Tuesday, February 06, 1962; Page: 7

I am a lifelong resident of Bourne, born Feb. 24, 1919, graduated from Bourne High school in 1938, served during World War II for three years with the 304th Engineer Aviation Battalion, U. S. Army, building roads and airfields on islands in the South Pacific.

I have had 24 years of experience supervising road and highway construction, maintenance and drainage with the Gallo Construction Company. During this time I have worked as a supervisor of construction of the road connecting the two dams at White River Junction, Vt. I was also a supervisor of construction of the Logan International Airport in East Boston and worked as a supervisor for installation of the water district for the Town of Sandwich. I have supervised the sealcoating of many state roads in Southeastern Massachusetts. I believe that a positive long
range road and sidewalk program is a necessity in Bourne.

I know that my 24 years experience with a. private construction company, specializing, in road construction, maintenance and drainage, and my knowledge of the costs of materials and equipment, will enable me to best serve the town of Bourne as Highway Surveyor.
