SAGAMORE BEACH - Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carafoli of Sagamore Beach have announced the engagement of their daughter, Amy Beth Carafoli of Fairhaven, to Paul Louis Pires of Fairhaven, son of Louis and Maria C. Pires of New Bedford.
Miss Carafoli is a graduate of Allegheny College and of Salem State College. She is the director of the Emergency Services program at Child and Family Services of New Bedford.
Mr. Pires is a graduate of Fisher College. He is a New Bedford Police officer.
An October 18, 2003, wedding is planned at St. John's Episcopal Church of Sandwich.
