Served aboard aircraft carriers USS Ticonderoga and USS Bon Homme Richard off the coast of Vietnam and was stationed at Subic Bay in the Philippines. In the U.S., was stationed at San Diego, Memphis, Tn, Whidbey Island, Wa. and Alameda, Ca.

Served from 1969 to 1974, actually 5 and a half years. Stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL, worked 18 months as a Flight Simulator Instructor in the Flight School. Remaining 4 years as an Air Traffic Controller working Lowe Army Airfield, Ft. Rucker and later Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii.
