Served 1967-1971. First year in Charleston SC.as an Engineman working Harbor Support. The next three years aboard the USS Swerve MSO 495 (Minesweeper Ocean) on the Auxiliary Gang. We would sweep the Ocean and it's coasts for enemy planted mines ,and detonate them.

I did my basic training at Fort Lewis, Washington, and my advanced training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I went to NCO school to become an artillery crew chief and then was sent to Vietnam. I was there for a year with the Second Field Force and the 23rd Artillery Group.

Commissioned 1990 and assigned to SEAL TM 6 as an assistant assault commander, then XO of Brown Squadron (now Black SQ). Retired 2000 to move to CIA paramilitary unit (GB SAD) where I served for 16 years with over 12 combat tours.
