Beloit, WI - Richard Albert “Dick” King, 85, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Beloit Memorial Hospital with his daughter by his side.

He was born on May 21, 1939, in Beloit, WI, the son of Albert and Harriet (Thompson) King. Dick was a 1957 Beloit Memorial High School graduate. He married the love of his life, Ellen Lancaster on October 3, 1959 in Beloit, WI. They spent 63 wonderful years together. She predeceased him on February 15, 2023.

Dick was formerly employed by Taylor Freezer for 13 years and then Roper Whitney in Rockford until his retirement in 2009. He was an avid fisherman and spent much time on various lakes throughout Wisconsin with Ellen. Dick was a master craftsman and loved home remodeling, including remodeling his children’s first homes. Dick was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed spending Sunday evenings with his wife and daughter watching the Hallmark Channel.

Survivors include his daughter, Vicky McClurg of Beloit, WI; granddaughter, Christiana McClurg of Madison, WI; sister, Barb (Russell) Gregg of Naples, FL; brothers-in-law, Paul Lancaster of Loves Park, IL and Lloyd (Kay) Lancaster of Marshfield, WI; sister-in-law, Patricia Grulke of Tucker, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was predeceased by his parents; wife; son, Ricky J. King; sister, Carol Raiten; sister-in-law, Joanne Lancaster; brothers-in-law, Mel Raiten and Don Grulke; and nephew, Randy Raiten.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Beloit Memorial Hospital Special Care Center for their care and compassion given to Dick.

Per Dick’s wishes there will be no services.
