About | Bonilynn Paugel Obituary September 9, 1946 – February 5, 2025 Fitchburg, Wisconsin Bonilynn Paugel, age 78, passed away at Agrace Hospice on February 5th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on 02-10-1946 in Beloit, Wisconsin the daughter of Charles G. and Ann F. Putnam. She attended schools in Omaha, NE / Anchorage, AK / Loring Air Force Base, ME as the daughter of an Air Force serviceman and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1965. On July 17th, 1968, she married the love of her life David J. Paugel at Hope Lutheran church Sioux Falls, SD with their dearest friends Gene & Barb Sanderman residing as their witnesses. She worked as a certified nursing assistant, EMT - Evansville, WI, school bus driver for 13 years - Evansville, WI and for over 20 years at St. Mary’s hospital in clerical for radiology, surgery and lab until retiring in 2011. Boni was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Evansville, WI for over 54 years, she contributed to multiple areas of the church most notably Alter guild. She will be especially remembered for her wit, boisterous personality, her love for friends and family, the time and enjoyment she and David spent at their cabin in Mercer, WI enjoying the lake breezes and the natural surroundings as well as the vacations they took with dear friends and family. Her love for quilting grew over the years of her retirement and she with the help of her dear friend Patti Ralph designed and made some exquisite quilts as well as lifelong friendships and experiences along the way. Bonilynn is survived by her children, John (Jill) Paugel-Evansville, WI, Matthew (Amy) Paugel-McFarland, WI, grandchildren Kyl (Hailee) Klug, Brendan Paugel, Samuel (Megan Jones) Paugel, Mallory Paugel, great-grandchild Colton Klug, sister Kay (Lloyd) Lancaster, Robert Heck, Shirley Hallmark, nieces, nephews and families as well as cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband David J Paugel, parents Charles & Ann Putnam, brother Gary Putnam as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Evansville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Church. A private burial will be held at a later date at Floral Lawns Cemetery, South Beloit, IL. Ward Hurtley Funeral Home, Evansville is assisting the family.
