Obtained a commission through Officer Candidate School, then served in divided Berlin and 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. After return to the US, taught Russian at West Point, served in the J2 at USCENTCOM, was an intelligence officer for 10th ADA BDE in Germany, operations officer for an intelligence battalion at Ft. Hood, and G2 of the Joint Readiness Training Center. After retiring, joined the federal government as a civilian and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
