My favorite high school teacher who made science fun and interesting after hating it in junior high. I took life science and physiology from him

Mr. Desch was one of my very favorite teachers and one of the best at Lincoln. I will always remember his way to make us never forget the fat-soluble vitamins discovered by Dr. ADEK (they're vitamin A, D, E and K). He was such an inspiration. I still have some of his cartoon characters, too. Sigh....

Mr Desch was my biology teacher. He figured out that I tested better orally than I did written test. Thanks to him. I learned all the material very well and tested well. I will always be grateful to him for making science and wonderful subject for me. I also played recorder with him in the recorder club. He had so much enthusiasm for music. He will be greatly missed.

I will always remember Mr. Desch as one of my favorite teachers during my years at Lincoln. His Physiology class was the most fascinating and challenging course of my high school experience. My favorite Desch quote: “Bugs are ubiquitous”. RIP

Oh, I just found out his passing. Mr. Desch was more than my favorite teacher. He not only taught me the wonder of homeostasis in the human body and prepared me for college, but he was such a support to me when my family was falling apart.
He will always have a special place in my heart. He was so special to me I sculpted a bust of him and gave it to him to show him my gratitude. I think he kept it for a number of years.
I will always remember him with gratitude and fondness.

He lit up the world of science in my mind by his creative teaching ways and made it extremely fun. This paved the way to help me get through nursing school.

Mr. Desch had the ability to make science fun.
Several of us would get together so we could group study for his tests.
How many remember what he did in class to describe the Electron Transport Chain?
The best teacher at Lincoln high from 73-77!
