About	Steve’s name in his successful show business career was Steve Merritt. The NY Times Obituary noted his career as choreographer and stage director who choreographed the Academy Awards (88) . He also was a choreographer for Beach Blanket Babylon.( 79-93) His beginning career he worked with Sammy Davis , Petula Clark , Tom Jones Liza Minnelli. He was co creator of Dream Street in Las Vegas. First saw him perform in 64-65 at Italian Gardens shortly after he moved to SF I saw him last in person 1973 at after party of Auntie Mame. ( Juliet Prowse I believe) I would see him on Merv Griffen and Jonny Carson with his creation of The Chippendales. My fond funny memories of us giggling in class and his ability to read the jacket of a book I read and then write a book report. Gone too Soon
