Lorraine Mae McDowell, 94, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence (Robin Way Assisted Living, Kenosha, WI) on August 11, 2022.
Lorraine was born in Waukegan, IL to the late Philip & Marguerite Perington on February 19, 1928. She grew up in Zion, where she graduated from Zion High School in 1946. She married Jack McDowell in 1950 and raised their family in Winthrop Harbor. She was a loving daughter, wife & mother. She approached the end of her life with grace, gratitude, dignity & so much love. Lorraine was a homemaker to her family most of her life. She enjoyed square dancing, line dancing, sewing, canvas oil painting & entertaining with her family.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter Lynette (Henry) Henriksen of Kenosha, WI; son Dennis McDowell of Crystal Lake, IL; 3 grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Ambrose, Gary (Mandy) McDowell, & Andrew (Sam) McDowell; 4 great grandchildren & many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband (Jack) of 67 years, her parents, her brother Neil Perington, and her brother Lamont Lee Perington.
