Events	Joan Lucille Orear, 79 of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, passed away November 12, 2023 in Highland Park, Illinois. Joan was born February 2, 1944 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. She graduated from Zion Benton Township High School in 1962. She then married Addis Orear on November 7, 1964 at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Zion. Joan was Co-owner of One Stop Mini Mart in North Chicago. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Spring Bluff elementary school and as a secretary for Comed. Joan was a member of the Red Hat Society - Queen Bees of Zion Joan was survived by her husband, Addis Orear; daughter, Gina (Orear) Garza; Son-in-law, John Garza; grandchildren, Gigi Garza, and Jack Garza; Siblings, John (Gladys) Nelson, Gerald Nelson, Janet Nelson and Sue Kuchta; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Evald and Marjorie Nelson.
