Charles E. Shaeffer, 70 of Zanesville died at 6:11pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care.
He was born on March 24, 1944 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Charles E. Shaeffer and Dorothy Brink Shaeffer.
Charles was a 1962 graduate of Zanesville High School, and a realtor / auctioneer for Findeiss Realty for 25 years. He attended Rolling Plains Church, was a Navy Veteran, a member of the Moose Lodge 867 Amrow Grotto, Fraternal Order of Eagles 302, American Legion #0843 & the Layfayette Lodge # 79. Charles loved to travel to LasVegas, enjoyed watching his son-in-law coach the "Big Cats" Maysville Basketball team and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes & Cleveland Browns football fan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie (Wisecarver) Shaeffer of the home; his three children, Cindy (Pat) Miller, Eric "Bud" (Judy) Shaeffer, and Tamy (Jason) Sprouse; 5 grandchildren, Troy (Jordin) Harmer, twins Aaron & Abby Miller, Johnny Sprouse & Stacy Sprouse. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles E. Shaeffer & Dorothy Brink Wilhite, step father Cleo Wilhite, his grandmother Hazel Masters, his mother and father in law Virgil & Sadie Wisecraver.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with funeral service being held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 01, 2014. Burial with Military honors will conclude at the Salem Cemetery, Norfield Rd., Zanesville, OH 43701.
