William S. Tharpe, 79, of 270 W. Willow Drive, died at 7:25 pm Tuesday, December 13, 1994, at Bethesda Hospital.
Born July 24, 1915, in Zanesville, he was a lifetime resident of Zanesville, and a retired employeee of Central Ohio Coal Co. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and Amity Lodge 5 F&AM, Amrou Grotto, United Mine Workers. An Army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of Elks Lodge 114, Zanesville for over 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Beatrice Tharpe; two duaghters. Susan Melsheimer and Randi Hoover, both of Zanesville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Jeanette Shaw Tharpe.
Burial will be in Memorial Park.
