Most notable service was as Executive Officer in charge of the Coast Guard's only functioning unit in the vicinity of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Retired in 2009 as a LCDR in charge of the Puget Sound waterways at Coast Guard Sector Seattle, WA.

Still serving. It's amazing how fast the time has gone and how many places I've seen and people I've served with. I never intended to join and once I joined I never intended to stay. Almost 18 yrs later, I can't think of a better choice I could have made. The Air Force taught me a language, sent me to UT Austin for my undergraduate and is not providing my graduate degree as well. I've seen and done things people only read about and was able to meet my beautiful and now have two beautiful kids. My time in the service is about done, I just need to figure out what my second career is going to be.
