| Favorite School Memory | My award for Most Improved Athlete for the only girl gutsy enough to run track in 1984. My first place trophy for my entry in the Regional Creative Writing Competition. A special thanks to my English Lit. teachers and my 11th grade Creative Writing teacher. They all were my inspiration and I wish I had followed their counsel and become a writer way back then. It took years of working hard and experiencing life before I believed in my talents. Due to the abuse I suffered at home and at school, it took many yrs. to come to grips with my self-esteem. Don't have many other good ones. The very few who were nice to me and my friends, thank you for accepting the ugly duckling. She has grown to become a beautiful person, and not bad looking either !!...(read more) |
| About Me | Went to college for 3.5 yrs. Married my Junior yr. and had my first surprise my senior yr. Took a maternity leave from school and then had to go to work. That whole husband who wouldn't work thing. Settled for my Associates degree after missing a yr. of school. Moved into retail management w/ Wal-mart and moved to South Carolina. Had baby number two and went into real estate management in 1989. Stayed there until the property sold out to the military base in 1992. Divorced my deadbeat husband the same yr. and went on my own. Became an exotic dancer in 1992 and worked in five states as an featured guest. Made tons of money and spent like crazy. These were my rebellious yrs as I was very sheltered my whole life until then. I discovered the other side of life, parties, money, booze, excitement, travel, etc. Moved back to Pa and in 1997 was dealt a horrific blow. I lost my third son to a drunk driver on West Newton Hill. My baby was born early and passed in July 1997. Then his father passed away in February 1998 from an accidental shooting. He was a good man, and good looking, He was Johnny B Dugan of Columbia S. Carolina. I moved to Powder Mill Run Reservation, rented a cabin and hid for a year from the press and the phone calls. 1998 I moved back to Herminie Pa. I met my late husband Jack V Svesnik. He passed away after a long battle with esophagal cancer in July 2006, but not before giving me my beutiful little girl. She's a heartthrob and still gets picked on. I guess its a cruel world. The boys love her and the girls hate her. But I instill in her the values I learned through living. Treat others the way you want to be treated, tell the truth-even when it hurts, don't steal, and respect adults. She is going to be a great writer and has already won contests at nine, and she has a talent I don't have, she is also an incredible artist. She will be illustating my second novel "The Devil's Angel". In 2007 I met the man of my dreams, Brian Graft. He is a professional OTR truck driver. It was on my second trip with him cross country that I told him about my writing abilities and how I never did anything with them. He handed me a pen, which I have put away for safekeeping after finishing my novel, and told me to write him a story. A yr later I finished it. Scared of failure, I put it in our coffee table drawer and it sat there for a year. He didn't push but kept inspiring me to do more. I entered a nationwide contest in June 2009 and won fifth place. The company sent me a letter that made me cry, because I realized that I was good and that I had wasted 22 yrs of my career. I started sending my man-uscript out. It took six months of studying contracts and offers and six months ago I chose Strategic Books. In a few weeks my book will hit the stores and the internet. "Angel's Guardian" is a James Patterson style, short, fast moving chapters. It is a suspense thriller. In April I finished my second novel "The Devil's Angel", a REAL nailbit...(read more) |
