Helen Albright Leasure '40 died May 10,2016. She was a teacher for 31 years. She was a member of Phi Sigma Iota,Kappa Phi Omega and numerous professional organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David J. Leasure; her parents; and a sister. She is survived by her daughter, D. Jill Leasure '75; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Helen (Albright) Leasure, 97, of Rhinebeck, NY, formerly of Madison, PA, died
peacefully on May 10, 2016. Helen was the wife of the late David J. Leasure, and the daughter of the late Myrtle Kelley Albright and John Samuel (Sam) Albright.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne Albright Kotouch. Helen is survived by her daughter Dana Jill Leasure, of Rhinebeck, NY, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

A 1936 graduate of Sewickley High School, Helen earned a Bachelor's degree in 1940 from Otterbein College, where she graduated summa cum laude with a triple major in English, French, Latin, and a minor in History. Helen began her lifelong career as a high school English teacher in Hebron, Ohio, then returned to her alma mater, Sewickley [now Yough) High School; where she taught for 31 years. Helen was a dedicated and well-respected teacher: she spoke fondly and often throughout her life of the many students she taught over the years and she took great pride in their accomplishments.

Helen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Scottdale Chapter) for over fifty years, and maintained membership in numerous professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the Pennsylvania Association for School Retirees , and the Westmoreland County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Hilltop United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Madison and Yukon Senior Citizens.

Friends will be received at the Beatty-Rich Funeral Home in Madison, PA on Saturday May 14 from 10 am until 1 pm. Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 1 pm with Reverend Randy Sweet officiating. Burial will follow at the Madison Union Cemetery.
