ROTC Commission from Penn State. Mil Intelligence, Crypto training Fort Devens. Assigned to NSA station Augsburg Germany, Soviet Bloc intercept, 1974-1978. Left after 5 years as Captain. Grateful for the meaningful and very real work I did for NSA.

Marine Corps, 2 Years
Vietnam Veteran 1968-1969. Joined with Rodney Melton in September 1967. Rodney is also a Wyomissing Graduate class of 1965. I served with the 3rd Mairne Division in Dong Ha. Rodney was KIA and is buried at Arlington.

Air Force, 4 Years
Attained the rank of Staff Sergeant, and served in Vietnam from Oct. 1969 through Oct. 1970 as a crew member onboard an EC-47. Participated in 137 combat missions, with over 1100 hours of aerial combat time. Was awarded the Distinguished flying cross, Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Campaign Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Airman's Medal of Valor, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Medal.
