Wesley G. Lane
Class of 2001
Wes Lane, 2001 graduate from Abilene Wylie High School, received the prestigious Gold Headed Cane Award at the Convocation of the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine on Saturday May 19, 2012. This highest honor is bestowed upon a graduating medical student by classmates and faculty as the individual who best exemplifies "the art of medicine" those attributes that are most desirable in the competent and caring physician. Wes led his classmates in reciting the Hippocratic Oath at the convocation and then carried the School of Medicine’s ceremonial cane as he lead the graduates in the processional at the commencement ceremony on Sunday at the United Spirit Arena. Wes has accepted his residency at Scott & White Hospital.
