My family cut me loose after I dropped out of the University of Maryland, College Park. I struggled to make it on my own in Washington D.C., failed, left D.C. at age 40, moved to Cincinnati, Ohio (along with Paul 'Dockerty' Daugherty, who works for the Cincinnati Enquirer as a sports columnist).
