Michael Lawson has brought his skills and experience to New York Life Insurance Company and NYLIFE Securities, LLC in 2010. Prior to New York Life, Lawson ran Crossover Entertainment Group (and its predecessor, Lawson Artist Management which he launched in 2006), a diversified professional services firm with three wholly-owned subsidiaries specializing in celebrity personal management, media production company and a branded entertainment corporate consulting firm. Prior to launching his own businesses, Lawson spent over 11 years in executive management and leadership positions at Houlihan Lokey, the most active global mergers & acquisitions investment bank, and Arthur Andersen LLP, once the world’s largest accounting and financial consulting firm. While at Houlihan Lokey in its global headquarters in Los Angeles, Lawson was a part of the global leadership team and reported directly to one of the firm's three global division leaders. Lawson was responsible for the division's management, strategic planning of its growth initiatives, business development, expansion, internal financial analyses and special projects. Lawson began his professional career at Arthur Andersen in its global headquarters in Chicago. After gaining five years of corporate financial consulting and mergers & acquisitions experience, Lawson spent two years as part of Andersen's Global Corporate Finance division's national leadership team, integrating multiple offices and professionals across the country into a unified team while also driving the strategic business development initiatives and internal crossing selling platforms for its strategic growth initiatives. Lawson earned an undergraduate business degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which is highly ranked in the field of accounting by US News & World Report in its 2012 annual rankings of the Best Colleges. He is a member of National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (NAIFA) California. Michael Lawson is an agent licensed to sell insurance through New York Life Insurance Company and may be licensed with various other independent unaffiliated insurance companies in the states of CA (CA Ins.
