Joined the Air force in 1958, and after basic training at Lackland AFB, TX was assigned to SAM (School of Aviation Medicine) at Randolph AFB, TX. This is where the first monkey in space got his name, Sam. He later became our mascot. The SAM relocated to Brooks AFB, Tx
Was on three bases in three years and never got out of San Antonio TX. So much for join the AF and see the world. However, enjoyed every minute of it.
