Tom served as principal euphonium in the band (under Dick Kamm and Glen Anderson) at WB. His entire professional life, as a regional sales executive (and engineer), was based in the states of Illinois and Michigan.
He was married to WB Alumnus Joyce (Kreml) Ryl.
Tom was an intelligent, fun loving and a wonderful father. He was strong-willed in his convictions, yet the consumate peace maker and motivator in team situations. Thus he was always sought out as a leader by others. He was very much an original, impossible to replicate in his capacity to offer a kind word or astute observation (to anyone) when a person needed it the most.
