Lawrence Welsh III, 79 of Aurora, passed away Thursday April 23, 2015 at the Grove of Fox Valley. He was born July 15, 1935 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Lawrence and Agnes (Cowan) Welsh II.

Larry was a teacher for over 35 years at Willowbrook High School where he was the Head of the Science Department before his retirement. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 33, Kiwanis Club, and The American Chemical Society. More recently, he enjoyed working as a Fermi Lab Docent, volunteering at the Aurora Food Pantry and enjoying his work as a travel agent. He was also longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. He was an avid Cubs fan, and enjoyed playing golf.

Larry is survived by his wife, Suzanne Welsh of Aurora; his daughters, Amy (Tracey) Guddendorf of Yorkville, IL, Melissa (Paul) Woloszyn of Northbrook, IL and Sarah (Harty) Ausel of Dimondale, MI; his seven grandchildren, Michael Guddendorf, Abby Guddendorf, Nicholas Woloszyn, Ashley Woloszyn, Megan Woloszyn, Luke Ausel and Matthew Ausel; his brother, Bill (Anne) Welsh of Savannah, GA; his sister, Grace (Larry) Polzin of Rathdrum, Idaho; his brother-in-law, Ward (Nancy) Seifrid of Algonquin, IL; his sister-in-law, Joy (Bob) Yehnert of Batavia; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 27, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506 and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 28, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 N. Edgelawn Dr., Aurora, IL 60506. Interment will be private.
