Tom Acton

Class of 1971

Tom Acton, while privately enduring the tremendous family hardship of siblings challenged with deadly cystic fibrosis…never once mentioning the situation to fellow students…served as the WB yearbook Editor. Tom’s life experiences and leadership skills led to a natural calling in the ministry. Recognized for excellence in his field, he served as Assistant to the President of the Lutheran Church Southern Minnesota District. The district office administers over 240 congregations, 50 pre-school and 50 elementary schools and seven high schools across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Among Tom’s specialties in his role at the district-level was turning around troubled organizations (those in distress for one reason or another)…equipping them for success.

Tom just recently returned to the Chicago suburbs and now serves as Sr. Pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine, IL
