Alumni Publishes Novel

Author Charlotte Molette Barge is proud to announce the publication of her debut novel, “Lethal Encounters”. Imagine during your ordinarily routine evening commute, you suddenly find yourself staring down the dark headlights of a car traveling against the flow of traffic on a major thoroughfare. This is the nightmare that has become Charles Washington and Sean Smith’s reality. They each become victims that night in two separate accidents a few miles apart. When the dust finally settles, one is killed, the other is critically injured, and the driver who caused the carnage has disappeared into the dead of night.

The story takes an interesting turn when police arrive to discover skid marks from the assailant’s car at one accident scene but not the other. Detectives are immediately suspicious that perhaps this was no random accident. They hesitate initially to call it murder, but when it is discovered that one of the victims has had threats made against his life by someone refuted to have ties to organized crime, this affirms for the detectives that they are, in fact, on the right trail. But all who are close to the case agree, this method of murder is beyond bizarre.

Charlotte was inspired to write “Lethal Encounters” by the words of the hit song “Dance With My Father” by the late Luther Vandross. She has weaved elements of grief, survival, and love into the fabric of this 280 page work of fiction and thus has created the most captivating of who-done-its.
