Navy, 26 Years
Tennent to Pen State to Pensacola for commissioning and flight school. In Corpus Christi, Texas served as the XO of Marine Detachment. Served in Vietnam as an Intelligence Officer 1967-1968. Continued as an Intelligence Officer from 1968-1989 in Norfolk, VA, USS Mount Whitney, NSA in Virginia, USS Forrestal. Commanded the Navy Intelligence Center in Key West, Florida and then continued as Chief of Staff (N2) for Second Fleet, Chief of Staff (N2) for US Atlantic Fleet and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence at US Atlantic Command and US Central Command.
Retired in 1989. Enjoying a less hectic lifestyle in Colorado Springs.

Aviation Machinist Mate Senior Chief, (Air Warfare) Retired. Jan 83 completed boot camp in Orlando, onto Millington Tenn for Jet Mech school, and then Pensacola Fl for UH-1N Huey school. Assigned to VXE-6 (Antarctic Development Squadron 6) Point Mugu Ca (3 deployments to McMurdo Station Antarctica), turned wrenches on Huey helicopters. Enjoyed time on the ice and our time in New Zealand. Naval Air Station North Island; HS-10 (Helicopter Anti Submarine Squadron 10), worked on SH-3A/D/G/H Sikorsky Sea King helicopters, worked in Quality Assurance, transitioned squadron from H-3 helo's to the new SH-60F. HSL-33 (Helicopter Anti Submarine Squadron Light 33) (Deployed for Desert Shield Desert Storm and Operation Southern Watch) on board USS Marvin Shields and USS Kirk both knox class frigates, worked on Kaman SH-2F helo's, Leading Petty Officer for Quality Assurance, worked as Maintenance Control Supervisor, was being "groomed" for Chief. HSL-45 (shore Duty), made Chief! worked as Maintenance Control Supervisor. HSL-45 Atsugi Japan, Detachement 1 Leading Chief Petty Officer, shot the first Hellfire Missiles off a SH-60B in Okinawa, made Senior Chief Petty Officer while deployed on board USS O'Brien DD-975 in the Persian Gulf. Worked as Maintenance Control Supervisor. Big move to Jacksonville Fl and USS John F Kennedy, assigned as Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Division 2 Leading Chief Petty Officer, leading 250 plus of the Navy's finest sailors providing engine, airframe, hydraulic, NDI, pararigger, welding and tire and wheel support to the assigned airwings. And finally Helicopter Anti submarine Squadron 15 (HS-15) NAS Jax, finishing up 7 years straight of sea duty, retired May 2004.

Our William Tennent High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our William Tennent High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated. All of us in Warminster are proud of our military alumni and want to thank them for risking their lives to protect our country!
