Lowell was a real character and the classic practical joker! He had a fabulous sense of humor and was a superb chess player. He and I were classmates in Physics II and occasionally played chess during the slow times in class. I don’t think I ever beat him! Years after graduation I ran into him on my way back from the City where he worked as a conductor for the train company. Sad to learn that he passed away so early in life. I liked him a lot!
