Sheldon Lee Stacey, 29, of Vinton, was called to his Heavenly home on February 14, 2022. The Lord whispered to Sheldon, Well done Son! I need you to come home with me. Sheldon replied, Yes, Lord! And upon arriving, Sheldon told the Lord, By your grace through faith, you saved me, and now, such peace and happiness Ive never known! Thank you Lord for saving me!
Sheldon was so happy to be greeted by his loved ones that arrived before him; paternal grandparents, Homer and Marie Stacey; maternal grandparents, William and Betty Dunford and beloved uncles, Britt Stacey and Troy Parker.
Sheldons loving family had to remain here to finish the plans God had made for them; parents, Jeff and Somona Stacey; brother, Dustin Smith; sister, Miranda Stacey Little One; fiance, Jordan Bennett and the Bennett family. Other members of his family are Brittany Nichols, Jake Stacey and Michelle Stacey.
He had several loving aunts and uncles and many cousins that loved him, as well. Sheldon was favored with a multitude of friends, many he went to school with and others he loved and acquired along his journey. These included Sid Riddle and his family, Brian Huffman, Eagle Nest friends, Pastor Rodriquez and his family, and wonderful employers and co-workers from Tidy Services. Many of his friends became family to the Stacey clan over the years. He never met a stranger and was always quick to help anyone in need. Sheldon had a heart of gold and a kind and loving spirit.
Sheldons athletic skills were unsurpassed and a gift from God. He gladly shared that gift by encouraging, helping and dispensing his knowledge to young athletes everywhere! For all these things, Sheldon will always be remembered and loved!! He will live on through the great love and memories we all have of Sheldon.
A special thank you to Joshua Dama and staff at Oakeys Funeral Service, Pastor Rodriquez, The Eagle Nest, Kenny Jarels and the Aware Foundation. Thank you for the outpouring of love from people everywhere. Thank you for all that made donations which were greatly appreciated! Thank you to the ones that continued to search relentlessly, stood by and helped his family through these challenging months. You have all been special blessings from God! Remember Psalms 147:3, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth their wounds. Trust God to continue his path of healing your heart! We love each and everyone of you.just as Sheldon did, also!
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Oakeys Vinton Chapel with Rev. Ricardo Rodriquez officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Oakeys Vinton Chapel.
