James Benjamin "Ben" Holloman, 65, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends who meant the world to him.
Born on November 28, 1960, Ben lived a life rooted in hard work, laughter, love, and the simple joys that made life meaningful. A graduate of William Byrd High School, he spent much of his career working as an electrician and maintenance supervisor, taking pride in a job well done and the ability to help others with steady hands and a generous heart.
Above all else, Ben's greatest love was his wife, Jill Holloman, with whom he shared a life full of devotion and companionship. If there was one thing that came close to rivaling that love, it was fishing. Whether casting a line or simply enjoying the peace of the water, fishing brought him joy and comfort throughout his life.
Ben treasured time spent gathering with family and friends, listening to his favorite music, and never passing up the chance to hunt for a hidden treasure at a yard sale. The people lucky enough to know him will remember his warmth, humor, and the way he made ordinary moments feel meaningful.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jill Holloman; his mother, Ann Holloman; his son, Curtis Holloman and wife Amanda, along with grandchildren Addison and Reese; his daughter, Amanda Barger, along with grandchildren Jayla and Jayce; his siblings, Jane (Rick) Deans, Sarah O'Hara, and Ruth (Bobby) Copeland; and many cherished extended family members and dear friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his father, James "Jim" Holloman.
The family will receive flowers through Oakey's Vinton Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, Virginia.
