About	William Everette Prather, 63, of High Point, NC passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at his home. Born December 3, 1962, in Brunswick, ME, William was the son of Louise Doiron Prather and the late William “Bill” T. Prather. He grew up in Roanoke, VA and graduated from William Byrd High School in Vinton, VA. William also known as “Hot Shot” worked at the former Lakeside Amusement Park in Salem, VA for his beloved late uncle, Don Williams, Sr as a games and rides attendant in the late 1970’s and 80’s. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed jig saw puzzles and traveling to visit extended family along the east coast. Surviving in addition to his mother, there are two sisters, Linda Prather Secco, of High Point, NC and Doreen Jones and husband, David, of Weeki Wachee, FL, two nieces, Danyl Williams and husband, Issaac, and their son, Isaiah, and Deana Jones, of Florida. Aunts and uncle, Evelyn Doiron Chandler and husband, Paul of Carlisle, PA, Esther Richards, of Weston, VT, Theresa Smith, of Woburn, MA, Theresa Michaud Doiron, of Brunswick, ME and Laurette Favor, of Jackson, CA. William is also survived by special cousins, Brenda and Doug Rolli, of Bradenton, FL, Donny Williams, of Daleville, VA, and Renee Chandler, of Lake Anna, VA, and numerous other cousins in North Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, Utah, and California; and his best friend, Richard Meadow, of Roanoke, VA. There will be no formal services. Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is serving the family.
