About t is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Hale, a cherished husband, father, and friend, who left this world on December 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 7, 1942, in Roanoke, Virginia, William was a beloved member of the community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.



David graduated from William Byrd High School and subsequently served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his time in service, he embarked on multiple business ventures. Ultimately, he found his true calling as a general contractor, establishing his own company, DVW INC. He took great pride in his projects and viewed each new endeavor as an opportunity to create lasting contributions to the community he loved.



He found joy in singing at Bonsack Baptist Church, where he was a dedicated member, uplifting the spirits of those around him. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through challenges and inspiring him to give back to others. Additionally, he took great honor in serving as a guide at the D-Day Memorial, where his knowledge and passion made him one of the most requested guides.



Above all, David was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Hale; daughter; Wendy Cooley; son-in-law, John Mark Cooley; and grandchildren, John and Faith Cooley.



Details regarding the service will be announced in the coming days, inviting all who knew him to gather in remembrance.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in his name can be made to the Bonsack Baptist Church.
