About Michael Wayne Horn passed away suddenly on Friday, October 24, 2025. Mike went to be with the Lord at the age of 73 years. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on March 8th, 1952. He was proceeded in death by his mother Janet Horn Clayton, his father Eustace Horn, and beloved dog Olive.







Mike survived by his loving wife of 47 years, "Cat" Cathy Horn, daughter, Sommer (Nate) Bryant; son, Thomas (Carrie) Horn; grandsons, Taylor & Braxton Horn, and Sawyer Bryant. Additionally, he survived by his sister, Judy Saul; brother, Ron Horn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.







Mike was a Senior Warden Free Mason at the Catawba Lodge #342, and his most recent accomplishment was being a 32nd degree KCCH Scottish Rite Free Mason in the Valley of Roanoke affiliated with the Supreme Council which governs the ancient and accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction. In Scottish Rite Masonry he served as Venerable Master and was honored as a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour. He was an avid golfer, pool player and die-hard Hokies and Washington Redskins fan. He was a salesman, real estate appraiser, mortgage broker, and in his later years he discovered his true passion of being a VHSL Official. In his free time, he volunteered transportation services for dog rescue. He loved being a PawPaw and spending time with all of his grandsons, including attending their various sporting events.







A visitation will be held at Oakey's East Chapel on Thursday October 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 PM. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Catawba Lodge No. 342 AF & AM following the Celebration of Life.
