About	Martha Bogen-Garrett, wife, mother, professional, died on Sunday, June 18, 2017 in the loving care of her wife Petie at home in Richmond, Virginia after a brief struggle with cancer. Martha retired in 2015 after a career in information technology for finance. She had a previous career with the states of Virginia and Maryland in personnel training and evaluation. The loves of Martha's life were her wife, Petie Bogen-Garrett; and her son, Eric, both of Richmond. Martha and Petie shared a bond of remarkable dedication throughout their nearly 30 years of love and marriage. Martha had great passion for the music and art that Petie and their many friends brought into her life. Those who knew her would say she possessed a calm, gentle, and intelligent dignity. She will be missed very much for a long time to come by siblings, Steve and Judy; and her nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment of the ashes will be held at Evergreen Burial Park at 1307 Summit Avenue SW, in Roanoke, Virginia on August 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Kirk Ballin will preside.
