About	Janet Ayers Johnson, 73, of Troutville, VA passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Ayers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Virginia Johnson; son, Jason Johnson and lifelong partner, Penny Tharington; grandsons, Dakota and Rylan Johnson; granddaughter, Amanda Coughlin; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Dreama Ayers; sister-in-law, Ann Ayers; nieces, Becky Romney and husband, Leighton, Patty Bohon and husband, Kevin, Kathy Summers and husband, Tom, Erin Nocon and husband, Nebrido. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on August 6, 1950 to the late Harold and Thora Green Ayers. After graduating from William Byrd High School, she attended and graduated from Virginia College. Janet worked for over 30 years at the Salem VA Medical Center. She was an avid reader enjoying her ghost stories and local history books. Janet loved Jesus and all of her family dearly. The family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Oakey’s Vinton Chapel where the funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with Kevin Bohon officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memory Gardens.
