MARSHALL, Melville Meador, 89, of Vinton, passed away Sunday, October 10, 1999. She was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 4522. She retired as Executive Secretary to the Town Manager of Vinton. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard B. Marshall; her parents, Letcher Mitchell and Mary Wright Meador; three brothers, Harrell Meador, Russell M. Meador, and Eustace E. Meador; and a grandson, William Neal Richey, III. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Methodist. Surviving are daughters and a son-in-law, Mary M. and William N. Richey, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Miss. Sarah F. Marshall, Vinton; two grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Richey, and Bryan Marshall Richey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
