About	Mary Scott Anderson, 82, of Roanoke County, Va., passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008. She was born in Franklin County, was a graduate of William Byrd High School, in Vinton, and was a member of West Side Church of Christ, in Salem. Preceding her in death were her parents, William P. and Mattie Lera Scott; son, Mark S. Anderson; and sister, Mildred Snider. Her surviving family includes her husband of 60 years, Lynn H. Anderson; son, Jerry L. Anderson and wife, Kay; daughter-in-law, Carolyn LaVoie; brother, Murphy Scott; sisters, Mabel Walker, Dorris Woodall, Betty Jenkins, Patsy Hopkins, Edith Oliver, and Barbara Chisom; grandchildren, Brooke Anderson, Aaron Anderson, and Nathan Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the staff at the Oaks Assisted Living Center, the Richfield Care Center, and to Dr. Haider for their wonderful care. In her spirit of giving, she donated her body to science to be used at a medical college in Virginia. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at the West Side Church of Christ, in Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions made in her name may be made to the West Side Church of Christ at 1705 Starview Drive in Salem, Va. 24153.
