Gary Lee Griffey III, 18, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009. Gary was a senior at William Byrd High School and was working part-time at K.F.C. in Vinton. Surviving are his mother, Kittie G. Diggs; father and stepmother, Gary L. Griffey II and wife, Kiyomi Griffey. Loved siblings include Kayla Griffey, Mackenzie Diggs, Lucas Diggs, Mackenzie Griffey, and Lauchlan Griffey; paternal grandmother, Irma Griffey, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; maternal grandmother, Mary Humphries, of Lowry City, Mo. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. A service celebrating Gary's life will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel. Burial will be private. The family welcomes flowers
