About	Timothy S. "Tim" Hackney, 45, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 30, 2011, after a long courageous battle with diabetes. Tim was a graduate of William Byrd High School and was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eula Gearheart Hackney; his grandfather, Sidney A. Hackney; his aunt, Mary Lee Liakos; and his parents, Thomas Dewey and Frances Jones Hackney. Surviving is his devoted aunt, Shirley M. Hackney, of Roanoke; his uncles, Charles Wray and wife, Shirley, and Johnny Liakos, all of Roanoke; his grandparents, George and Juanita Jones, of Roanoke; his aunt, Vickie Lynn Jones; his uncles, Mike Jones and wife, Donna, all of Roanoke, and Delmar Jones, of Amherst, Va.; several cousins including a special cousin, Virginia Sink; and a special friend, Greg Taylor, of Rocky Mount. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Bob West officiating. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
