About | Sharon Payne Epperly, of Roanoke County, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was an honor graduate at William Byrd High School. Sharon worked for Colonial- American National Bank and at Mulch-n-More for many years. Sharon was a very loving, caring and devoted mother to her son, Marc and wife to her husband, Alan. She was a very active and devoted member at Brookhill Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church. Her interests included family, caring for her pet, Scooter, traveling to Tennessee and joy rides on the motorcycle with Alan. Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Marc Bryant; father and mother, Everett and Josephine Payne; and her uncle and aunt, Ollen and Thelma Hartman. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 17 years, Alan; brother and wife, Barry and Frances Payne; mother-in-law, Shirley Weaver who gave loving care during Sharon's illness; brothers-in-law and wives, Cecil and Anita Epperly, Ronnie Epperly, Randy and Leisa Epperly, Tracy and Wendy Epperly; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2011 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Mark Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Bandy Cemetery, Roanoke County. The family would like to thank the Amedisys Hospice Care for all their support. The family suggests memorials be made to Fellowship Baptist Church in Sharon's memory, 929 Murray Avenue, SE, Roanoke, VA 24013.
