About	William David Goble, 73, of Daleville, formerly of Vinton, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. David was born on August 3, 1938, to the late Edgar Allen Goble and Mary Clare Oglesby Goble. David graduated from William Byrd High School in 1955, going on to Emory & Henry College and graduating in 1959. After a short teaching career, he spent six years in the United States Air Force as a Personnel Officer. Immediately after his discharge, he accepted a job with E. I. DuPont in Waynesboro. In 1974, David joined The New York Life Insurance Company, and served in various capacities over his 30 year career. David loved music, and sang in a number of choirs during his lifetime, starting in high school and college. Mr. Goble sang with the Collegians men's chorus from 1955 to 1959, and was a member of the Collegian Quartet for three years. He also sang with the Waynesboro Choral Society from 1970 to 1974, and was also a current member of the Roanoke Chapter of the S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. Mr Goble was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Goble Ogburn. He is survived by his wife, Arleen Fowler Goble and their children, Mark D. Goble and wife, Kim, of Memphis, Tenn. and Holle E. Cuje, of Chesterfield; grancdhildren, Carly Cuje (11), Evan Goble (17), Trevor Goble (16) and Elizabeth Goble (13). For more than 35 years, Dave was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he served in various capacities. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 1887 Electric Road Roanoke, VA 24018. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Keith Beasley officiating.
