About	John William Burkholder, 87 died peacefully July28, 2012. The son of John William Burkholder,Sr. and Ruth Hutchins Burkholder, he graduated valedictorian from William Byrd High School in 1941 before beginning a 44-year career with Norfolk & Western. He was a pioneer in the railroad's conversion to computers in the 1960s and retired as a Senior Systems Analyst. Mr. Burkholder, was predeceased by his wife, Catharine Kidd Burkholder. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in law, Brad and Yvonne Burkholder and Jay and Stephanie Burkholder, and one granddaughter, Catharine Lura Burkholder. The family will recieve guests Monday, July 30, 2012 from 2-4 P.M. & 6-9 P.M. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Funeral service will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 with Pastor B. Falles officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
