About	John A. Kreider, 80, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012. He was the son of the late John David and Ruby Kreider. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria Morris (Tillman) and Jean Kreider. John was a star athlete at William Byrd High School. He was a dedicated employee of Bemis Electric and Jarrett Electric. John and Martha were avid Virginia Tech Basketball fans. John attended the first basketball game held in Cassell Coliseum. They enjoyed beach vacations with friends and family. Many evenings and weekends were spent attending their grand children's sporting events. John was a member of Bonsack Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Ann Kreider; sons, John Jay Kreider (Vicki) and Kurt Lee Kreider (Terri); and their grandchildren, Lee and Brooke; sister, Marian Flaherty (Warren); brother, Robert Wayne Kreider (Linda); numerous nephews and cousins; very special lifelong friends, Herbie and Dixie Snyder; and numerous friends from the Roanoke YMCA. The family would like to thank Medi Home Hospice and John's several in-home care givers. Funeral Services will be conducted at noon on Monday, September 10, 2012, at Oakey's North Chapel with Dr. Robert Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2012, at the Oakey's North Chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens
