Joyce Cadd Mayhew, of Vinton, beloved mother and grandmother, died Saturday, February 9. 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Julia Cadd. Joyce graduated from William Byrd High School and was a member of Vinton Baptist Church. She retired from Roanoke City Schools with 30 years of service. Retirement included swimming at Lancerlot, Caribbean cruising and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Charles B. Mayhew of Vinton; daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Alan Wilkerson of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Lauren, Audrey, Adam and Jared Wilkerson; cousin, Jim Willis and wife, Deb of Dagsboro, DE. A memorial service will be at 6pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Rev. Dr. William R. Booth officiating.
