About	Jeffrey Darnell (Jeff) Mayo, departed this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was born on June 5, 1969, to Jacqueline Mayo Robinson and the late Nathaniel Mayo. He was a loving and caring father, son and brother. Jeff accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bibleway Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ. He was a graduate of William Byrd High School and J.B. Hunt Trucking School. Jeff was an ambitious young man who carried an entrepreneur spirit. His many endeavors included G & J's Clothing, real estate investing and close to his heart was mentoring of many youth. Jeff enjoyed life and had a passion for dogs. He was well known for his funny personality, always joking and making people laugh. Most people referred to him as a "cool dude". He was well known by the Roanoke Valley and was loved and cherished by many. He never met a stranger. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Mayo. Those left to cherish his memory are two handsome sons, Jeremiah Emmons Mayo and Jahki Darnell Emmons Mayo; mother, Jacqueline Mayo Robinson; grandmother, Lucille Poindexter; brothers, Nathaniel (Gayle) Mayo and Gary (Debra) Mayo; sister, Deneen (Justice) Sandidge; special niece, Natacha (Theodore) Haskins; nephews, Justis (J.T.) Sandidge and Garrison Mayo; nieces, Kisha Mayo, Martika Mayo, Grace Mayo and Gabrielle Mayo; special friend, Kia Sherman; a host of close uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Bishop Frank English, officiating and Apostle Samuel English, Eulogist. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday afternoon for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
