About | Nancy Gale Haynes Kuebler, of Roanoke, passed away on July 16, 2013 in Roanoke. Gale was born on June 27, 1963 in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of John Elwood Haynes and Ramona Rosalind Creger. She was preceded in death by her father. Gale graduated from William Byrd High School in 1981. She worked first as a volunteer and then as an employee of the Skyline Council of the Girl Scouts of America for 22 years. She was a mentor and inspiration to many Girl Scout leaders in the Skyline Council. Gale loved outdoor life, particularly camping and nature study. She was an avid butterfly and bird watcher. Her passion was introducing children and adults to the wonderful world of nature. From years of developing programs and camps, she had a wide variety of experience and knowledge of the outdoor environment and how to connect people to it. A loving wife and proud mother and grandmother, she much enjoyed the activities of her extended family. Gale had a zest for life, a great sense of humor, and inspired many that she met. Her loving family and many, many friends will always miss her. Survivors include her mother Ramona Rosalind Haynes, of Vinton; her brother, David Wayne Haynes of Vinton; her brother, Dale Calvin Haynes, of Roanoke; her sister, Sarah Ruth Lochner of Vinton; her husband, Allen Christian Boynton, of Troutdale; her daughter, April Marie Kuebler, of Buena Vista; her son, Johnathan Edward Kuebler and daughter-in-law, Jessica Nicole Kuebler, of Roanoke; her daughter, Mary Magdalene Kuebler, of Vinton; her nephews, Sean Tyler Smith and Jamison Lee Smith, of Vinton; and eight grandchildren, Abigail Rose Moore, Isaiah Lincoln Moore, Oliver Thomas Moore, Abigail Brooke Haroulakis, Philip James Haroulakis, Aubrey Elizabeth Thomas, Ava Maria Thomas, and Annika Leigh Thomas. Gale also has many surviving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gale's aunt, Nancy Nadine Sturgill, gave much support to Gale and her family throughout her life. The family expresses their grateful appreciation to the care given by Good Samaritan Hospice, Duke Cancer Clinic, Lewis Gale Hospital, and Roanoke Memorial Hospital during Gale's long illness. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 627 Hardy Road, Vinton, VA 24179. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Blue Ridge Discovery Center, 253 Little Big Horn Lane, Independence VA 24348. |
