About	Lisa Ann Preston, 47, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, in the Veterans Administration Hospital of Georgia as a result of her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her friends and family as she fought her battle with faith. She was born December 9, 1966, to Harold and Annie Preston of Roanoke, Va. Lisa was a graduate of William Byrd High School, Class of 1985, and later served in the United States Navy from 1987 to 1995. She was currently living in Atlanta, Ga. with the support of caregivers: Rita, Antonia (Jalen), and Jey. Lisa is survived by her parents, Harold and Annie Preston; daughter, Jalissa Ann Georgette Preston; sisters, Rita Preston of Atlanta, Ga. and Melissa (Bryant) Banks and brothers, Kevin (Sonja) Preston, and Anthony (Angela) Preston. She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Near and dear to Lisa's heart were seven nieces and nephews and 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews, including her only godson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dorothy and George Preston and Lettie Ann Geneva Starkey Hardy Cunningham. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and doctors of the VA in GA and Gentiva Hospice. Graveside service will be held at noon Friday, May 30, 2014, in Williams Memorial Park with the Bishop Frank English officiating.
